Student Leadership

Student Leadership

At LPS, we create a teaching and learning environment that fosters everyone's voice and aspirations. We believe that every student has endless potential, that we can always learn from one another and that working together helps us as life-long learners in our community.

Student Leaders at LPS show our four school values (Respect, Kindness, Responsibility & Honesty) to help lead the way in their chosen leadership role.

School Captains

School Captains at LPS actively promote the school values at all times, by providing leadership to all students. They organise and conduct whole school assemblies, represent and speak on behalf of students and the school at community events, work with students in other leadership roles and always demonstrate a positive and supportive attitude.

Specialist Captains

Specialist Captains assist in the Music, Visual Arts and Indonesian rooms. They have opportunities to speak at assembly to deliver messages, run competitions, assist in the set up of spaces and have a voice for their particular specialist area.

Specific examples include:

Running Indonesian club and assisting in the planning of an Indonesian day

Running a colouring competition

Setting up spaces for performances from the Rock Band and Bucket Drumming band

Kind Kids Club Captains & Vice Captains

Kind Kids Club Captains and Vice Captains are responsible for ensuring weekly organisation of kindergarten visits are carried out, including the preparation of name badges and handing out weekly permission forms to students from grades 3-6. Throughout the year they will also be responsible for assisting with the setting up of extra Kindness activities carried out within the school and the promotion of what the Kind Kids Club is doing throughout the school and into the wider community. They uphold all of our school values, especially Kindness.
